Behold A Sower Went Forth To Sow

Matthew 13:3-23

The parable of the sower is familiar to all Bible readers. Christ is the sower, the field is the world, the seed is the believer to whom God has committed the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Satan's First Strategy against us is Seen in the Parable of the Sower.
One of the designs of the parable is to establish Satan tactics in hindering fruit-bearing.
The parable discovers for us, a threefold strategy of his evil attack:
1- There is the sowing of the seed by the wayside.
2- There is the sowing of the seed on the stony places.
3- There is the sowing of the seed amid the thorns.
1- The wayside - The birds of the air, who are designated as the children of the wicked one, came down and caught away the seed.
2- The stony ground - Unfruitful, no depth of soil and a hot sun, suggestive of persecution, withered the plant.
3- The thorns - The deceitfulness of riches, and the cares and pleasures of the world choke the word.
The sad result of Satan tactics is seen in the fact that in the parable of four distinctive sowing, only one, the fourth, which was sown upon good ground, bore fruit.
The greatest victory which Satan exerts today among the truly saved, is his successful effort in holding Christians back from giving a clean, clear and powerful testimony for their Lord.
Satan snatches away the Word. (Our Sword)
Satan resorts to persecuting the believer, who is unwilling to pay the price, this holds back their testimony. The believer becomes so engulfed with the cares of business, or the follies of pleasure, that he finds no time and no heart to share the Gospel seed.

In the early days, the disciples went everywhere preaching the Word. They went from house to house. Their testimony could not be stopped. The result was, that, within the first century, the story of Jesus Christ had covered the known world and thousands and tens of thousands had gladly received the message of truth.
The church today, as a whole, has succumbed to Satan tactics and has laid down its testimony.
We need to follow what Paul Says in: Ephesians 6:10-20

Colossians 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

1 Thessalonians 5:8  But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Hebrews 4:12  For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Romans 12:12  Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;

Colossians 4:2  Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;

1 Thessalonians 5:17  Pray without ceasing.

Acts 4:29  And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,

2 Thessalonians 3:1  Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:

Now My Dear Brothers & Sisters,  Have you begun earnestly to speak for Christ, but you are troubled because you cannot speak like Mr. So-and-So. Do not try to speak like Mr. So-and-So! You say, "I heard a man preach, the other day and/or night, and when he was done, I thought I could never preach like that."

We just need to sow the Good Seed of the Kingdom and if you have not so big a hand as some sowers have, and cannot sow as much at a time as some, go and sow with your smaller hands, just remember that you sow the same Seed, and God will accept what you do! Make sure your heart is doing the speaking of the Word of God.
Maybe you are grieved that you do not know as much as some do, or that you have not the same amount of learning that they have. You regret that you have not the poetical faculty of some, or the holy ingenuity of others. Don't worry about those type of issues, God will be able to use you if your willing.
Our Lord Jesus does not say, that you have to know a certain amount to be able to spread the gospel seed. He simply says, "A sower went forth to sow." He does not tell us how he was dressed, nor does he mention anything about whether he was a tall man, or a short man, or what kind of man he was. He tells us nothing about him except that he was a sower.
We need to try to be nothing but a soul winner? Never mind about "idiosyncrasies,"
We just need to go ahead and Sow the Good Seed”.
God Bless You, Plant Your Gospel Seed Today.
